I have a wealth of experience designing and building security solutions in AWS.
Experience
Security Architecture
Since November 2018 I've been in Xero's Security Architecture team, helping product, platform and infrastructure teams build applications that are secure and robust. While infrastructure in AWS is my strength, my work takes me all the way up and down the stack.
Security Engineering
Before November 2018 I spent over 3.5 years on Xero's Security Infrastructure team, automating the deployment of Firewalls in AWS, Encryption services utilising AWS KMS and host and infrastructure based monitoring solutions (including contributions to Security Monkey).
Learning and Development
I graduated from Victoria University of Wellington with a Bachelor of Engineering in Network Engineering, my Honours project focused on network security in AWS.
Since graduating I've gained a number of certifications including AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate as well as various Akamai and Check Point modules.
Contributing to the community
I've spoken at a number of internal and public events, including BSides Wellington and NZ OWASP day 2018.
